How-To: Drain Pump Connection for Aerator Pump Ballast Systems

When using aerator ballast pumps in an automated ballast system we want to have the pump as close to the bag as possible to ensure good draining. But threading the pump directly into the bag is less than ideal for a couple of reasons:

1. Makes removing the bag from the boat for cleaning, storage or winterization, etc. much more difficult.
2. Depending on which ballast pump and ballast bag you're using, it's not always possible to thread the pump in directly.

To solve those problems, we offer these two parts:

- Small Drain Pump Adapter: Works with Attwood Tsunami 800, Rule 1100, Shurflo 800/1100 and any other pump with a 3/4" threaded intake.

- Large Drain Pump Adapter: Works with Attwood Tsunami 1200 Long Intake Pump. For a system designed to use Attwood 1200GPH Aerator Pump, you'll wan to use the Long Intake version of the pump with this adapter for the drain side.
