WakeMAKERS adheres to the industry standards when it comes to charging your credit card. We get a lot of questions from customers about this, so here's a summary:
Order is Placed: When you place your order on our website or over the phone, we will authorize your credit or debit card for the total amount of the order. This means we will place a pending charge on your account to ensure the card is valid and to reserve the funds.
NOTE: When you shop with a debit card, the authorization that is placed will actually debit those funds from your checking account, removing them from your account. This is due to a fundamental difference between credit and debit cards, and there's nothing that can be done about it.
Order is Shipped: When your order is actually processed in our warehouse and shipped to you, a request is digitally sent to your credit or debit card's issuing bank to capture the funds that were reserved by the authorization when the order was placed. You will see the status of that pending transaction change to "Posted", "Complete", "Captured" or some variation of that if you check your statement online.
If for some reason you need to cancel a portion or all of your order before it has been fulfilled, we will transmit a void request to clear the authorization that was secured when the order was placed. This process generally takes 1-2 business days to post to your account.
If at any time you have any questions about payments, credit card charges, refunds or any other payment-related issues, please feel free to contact us.
