If you have Go Surf Assist installed on your boat and you're not blown away by the performance, chances are you have the the actuator attached to the tab in the wrong position. Here's what you need to do to fix it.
Measuring the Tab Angle
The angle of the tab should be measured relative to the running surface of the boat where the tab is mounted. It's easiest to do this with a free angle finding app on your smart phone (available for iOS in the App Store and Android on Google Play).
Tab Angle When Stowed
When the tab is in the stowed or off position, we need to achieve an angle of AT LEAST 18 degrees. Anything more than that is fine, but at least 18 degrees with ensure that the tab is completely out of the water and not generating any lift.
Tab Angle When Deployed
When the tab is deployed fully, we are looking for an angle between 10 and 12 degrees. Once you have adjusted the connection of the actuator to the tab to achieve this setting, you can check the stowed angle again to ensure it is still at least 18 degrees.
For more information, see this installation video that walks through the process of installing and setting the angels for the tab:
Once you have the tabs properly configured you'll be blown away by the performance of the system, and the amount of push and length that you get from the wave.
